FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Medicol is an organization that brings together more than 30 member physicians specialized in musculoskeletal disorders, with the aim of promoting the training of healthcare professionals, networking their skills, and thereby improving patient care.

The Bois-Cerf Clinic, specialized in orthopedics, is part of the Hirslanden group of private clinics, which also represents the largest medical network in Switzerland.

Medicol and the Bois-Cerf Clinic, in partnership with their training physicians, have developed a fellowship program aimed at advanced training in orthopedic surgery.
This program offers fellows the following benefits:

Our fellows benefit from very good salary conditions; they are paid as clinic heads, based on the official ASMAV salary scale.

Dr Jacques Vallotton has performed over 2000 hip and knee prostheses and is particularly recognized in the field of ligament surgery and partial knee prosthesis. The coaching program he developed for his patients, as well as his post-operative follow-up method, contribute to the success of his operations. His preferred research area is the integration of knee biomechanics in the context of the lower limb through motion analysis.

He wishes to share his knowledge and offer young orthopedists the benefit of his experience.

Activities

• Surgical assistance for all cases of the trainer and surgical practice for own patients depending on autonomy level, under supervision.
• Consultations.
• Follow-up of hospitalized patients.
• Support for assistant physicians.
• Collaboration in clinical and scientific research.
• Participation in the organization and facilitation of medical conferences and meetings.
• Contribution to the writing of scientific texts for publication and communication.

Candidates will be selected based on the following criteria:

Conditions

• Currently obtaining or holding a Swiss or MEBEKO-recognized title of specialist in orthopedic surgery and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system.
• In case of FMH federal title, must have authorization to practice and bill in the canton of Vaud or be eligible.
• Good command of French (certified level) and knowledge of English.
• Swiss or EU/EFTA nationality or valid residence permit in Switzerland.

Skills

• Proven advanced surgical skills.
• Good command of IT tools and ease in administrative management.
• Ability to integrate into a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
• Sense of responsibility.
